| White Plexiglass
Acrylic is a versatile plastic material that has great impact strength yet is light weight. Plexiglass (acrylic) can be used for a number of applications such as signage, glazing, displays, picture framing, aquarium tanks, custom computer cases, and much more. Plexiglass (acrylic) is easy to work with. It can be sawed, drilled, routed, glued, painted, decorated, silkscreened, and formed.
We stock 3 types of white plexiglass acrylic.
White #3015 is classified as an opaque plexiglass acrylic
sheet. Opaque sheets transmit either a negligible amount of light or
no light at all.
White #7328 is a solid sheet, but will allow some light through.
There are many uses for white
#7328. It is an excellent material for applications that need to be
back lit, such as
back lighted signs or displays.
White #2447 will also allow some light through (more than
white #7328). White #2447 is often used for applications that need to
be back lit, but which need more light to transmit through the material (for
example: photo light tables, lighted drawing tables, x-ray chart readers,
overhead lights, skylights).
The term acrylic refers to a synthetic plastic material. Plexiglass, plexi-glass, lucite, acrylite or acrylic glass is often used to describe acrylic. There are several manufacturers of acrylic sheets. Some of the brand names of these manufacturers are Plexiglas, Chemcast, Acrylite, Lucite. Plexiglas® is a registered trademark of Arkema, Inc. The actual brand we ship out will depend on current stock.
