Weld-On 3 is a water-thin cement formulated to develop high strength bonds for plexiglass acrylic. The bond is achieved by first softening the surfaces to be joined and then fusing them together with the dissipation of the solvent. The initial bond forms within minutes and increases in strength over time. Weld-On 3 (@ 73°F) reaches 80% of it's ultimate bond strength in 24 hours. Under certain conditions, especially with high humidity, a white mark on the plastic (commonly called blushing) may sometimes occur with Weld-On 3. Where a more blush resistant cement and longer open time is required, Weld-On 4 is recommended.
